The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) is Ontario's provincial nomination program under the Ontario-Canada Immigration Agreement. OINP nominates candidates for permanent residence; IRCC then processes the federal permanent resident application. A provincial nomination adds 600 Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points to an Express Entry profile, making a federal Invitation to Apply near-certain for most candidates.
On June 26, 2026, Ontario implemented regulatory amendments to Ontario Regulation 422/17 under the Ontario Immigration Act, 2015. These amendments replaced eight formerly active streams with the new Ontario Workforce Priority stream. This is Phase 1 of a two-phase program redesign.
Phase 2, which Ontario has announced will include a Priority Healthcare Stream, a redesigned Entrepreneurs Stream, and an Exceptional Talent Stream, has no confirmed launch date. Do not base immigration decisions on Phase 2 pathways until Ontario publishes confirmed requirements and dates.
The Expression of Interest (EOI) system closed to new registrations under the former streams. Ontario anticipates reopening the EOI portal for the Workforce Priority stream later in summer 2026. No confirmed reopening date has been published. Candidates whose EOIs were registered under former streams will have those EOIs automatically withdrawn in the coming weeks.

- • New Ontario Workforce Priority stream with 3 pathways launched June 26, 2026
