Eligibility Requirements
For the Parent/Grandparent
- • Be the parent or grandparent of a Canadian citizen or permanent resident
- • Have a signed letter of invitation from the child/grandchild
- • Have medical insurance from a Canadian company valid for at least 1 year
- • Pass a medical examination
- • Meet other standard visitor visa requirements
For the Host (Child/Grandchild)
- • Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident
- • Meet minimum income requirements (LICO)
- • Provide a written commitment of financial support
- • Provide proof of relationship to the applicant
Medical Insurance Requirements
Super Visa applicants must have private medical insurance from a Canadian insurance company that meets these requirements:
- • Valid for at least 1 year from the date of entry
- • Minimum coverage of $100,000
- • Coverage for health care, hospitalization, and repatriation
- • Valid for each entry to Canada
