Territorial Nominee Program

Yukon Nominee Program

The Yukon Nominee Program (YNP) accepts applications in two fixed intake windows each year — January and July. Missing a window means waiting up to six months for the next one. All streams require current Yukon employment or a demonstrated Yukon connection.

2026 allocation: 282 nominations across Skilled Worker, Critical Impact, and Express Entry streams. The Critical Impact intake can fill within days of opening — prepare documents in advance of each window.

Fixed Intake Windows — January and July Only

The YNP only accepts applications during two intake windows per year: January and July. Applications submitted outside these windows are returned without review. If you are approaching eligibility, time your documentation, language test results, and employer letters to be ready for the next available window. Do not wait until the window opens to begin gathering documents.

YNP Streams

  • Must currently be employed in Yukon with valid work authorization
  • Full-time, permanent job offer from a Yukon employer required
  • TEER 0, 1, 2, or 3 occupation
  • Minimum 6 months of full-time employment in Yukon with the supporting employer
  • Language: CLB 4 minimum
  • Education: high school equivalent minimum; post-secondary required for TEER 0–2
  • Applications accepted in January and July intake windows only
Processing: Applications are assessed after each intake window closes. Processing time is typically 4–6 months from intake close.
Strategic note: The fixed January and July intake windows are a hard deadline — applications submitted outside these windows are returned. Plan documentation, language testing, and employer support letters to be ready for one of these two annual windows. Missing the July intake means waiting until January.

Where Most YNP Applications Fail

Application submitted outside January or July intake windows — not accepted, returned without review
Employer has not been in operation long enough or does not meet YNP employer eligibility criteria
Express Entry: Yukon connection not demonstrated — prior work, family, or education in Yukon is required
Less than 6 months continuous employment with the Yukon employer at time of intake
Language test expired or score below the threshold for the stream and occupation TEER level
Critical Impact: intake cap reached before application assessed — early submission is essential
Related pathways: Yukon Community Pilot participants should confirm their community's endorsed occupation list before applying. Workers needing initial Yukon work authorization should review employer-specific work permits. Candidates eligible for federal Express Entry programs may receive a 600-point CRS boost through the Yukon Express Entry stream.
